Patient Intake
You can download, print and fill out the patient forms before you come to your first visit. If you don't have access to a printer you can also fill it out when you get to the clinic, we ask that you come 15 minutes early. You'll fill out patient health history either on paper or by using a tablet. You'll also need your photo ID and insurance card, or a form of payment for your copay or if doing self pay.
Exam
A thorough chiropractic exam includes general tests, such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and reflexes. Specific orthopedic and neurological tests may also be used to assess the: Range of motion of the affected body part(s), muscle tone, muscle strength, and
neurological integrity.
Further chiropractic tests may be necessary to assess the affected area, such as having the patient move in a specific manner, posture analysis, or assess motion of the affected body part.
Diagnostic Studies
Based on the results of the patient's history and chiropractic exam, diagnostic studies may be helpful in revealing pathologies and identifying structural abnormalities to more accurately diagnose a condition. While an x-ray is the most common diagnostic study used during an initial chiropractic exam, it is not always needed.
While an x-ray can help view the bones, it is not useful for studying the soft tissues. When soft tissue damage is suspected, such as a problem with a disc, torn muscle, or nerve compression, an MRI scan is likely to be recommended.
Adjustment
The doctors may use one or more of these chiropractic treatment methods; The Diversified Technique, Spinal Manipulation, The Thompson Drop-Table Technique, The Gonstead Adjustment, The Activator Method, Flexion Distraction, or Spinal Decompression. Other treatments methods could include massage, ultrasound, nutrition guidance, heat therapy, and/or cold therapy.
treatment Plan
In the first phase of care the goal is to reduce your symptoms. Sometimes this could require daily visits, or one to three visits per week. In the second phase of your care, you will not have to receive adjustments as often as you did during the first phase of care and depending on your particular circumstances, you may begin doing exercises and stretches at home to help accelerate your healing. Routine chiropractic care can help ensure that your physical problems don't return, and keep your body in optimal condition.
